Oh My Gravy! Weruva BFF OMG! ‘People Food for Cats’

Dear Hoomom’s and Hoodad’s:

Hi! It’s me, Dori! *wavy paws* International Cat Day was on August 8th and Happy Healthy Cat Month is in Septempurr, so now is the purrrfect time to address what matters most to us cats: FOOD!

Here at Wonderpurr Gang Central, the 13 of us (yep, we added two more mouths this past spring—OMG!) we are a diverse group with some of us being kinda picky eaters, fatty cattys, and some of us have fire pee—that’s what our fearless leader Herman calls urinary tract issues. Those issues are the three most common cat concerns among hoomons and Weruva refers to them as The Big 3 Cat Concerns.

When Weruva contacted my mom about the Wondepurr Gang trying out the new B.F.F. OMG (that stands for Best Feline Friend, Oh My Gravy) I immediately volunteered to do the review. I’d already heard about Weruva from Hwermie from when he was at Blogpaws in Las Vegas and had tummy troubles from being a jet set kitty. When Mom casually mentioned to the B.F.F. hoomons that Hwermie couldn’t poop, they sent up to his room several packages of Pumpkin Patch Up. After that everything went smoothly.

So, Weruva is now launching  B.F.F. OMG! – a luxurious, natural pet food dubbed “people food for cats.” It’s gluten, grain, and carrageenan-free cat food and it’s all about preventing the Big 3 Cat Concerns.

DORI: Mmmm! Ev-furrything smells so good!

FRANK: Whatcha got, Dori?

DORI: Weruva sent us a care package of B.F.F. Oh My Gravy! noms. I think I’m in loooove!

FRANK: Which one are you gonna nom first, Dori?

DORI: I like the looks of this one called Chicken, Turkey & Salmon Dinner in Gravy.

DORI: Mom doesn’t call me Dori the Piggy-Cat for nuffin’. I couldn’t wait for my plate to hit the floor.

MOM: I had to move really fast to put the plates down for the rest of the Wonderpurr Gang before Dori lapped up their share of the B.F.F. OMG packets too. Then I grabbed my camera to take photos of everyone enjoying their lunch. Easier said than done. Everyone had their faces down over their plates. There was serious nomming going on all around me.

Frank woofed his Chicken & Tuna Dinner in Gravy while Peaches ate with more self control.

DORI: Is your kitty picky? We are lucky at my house. We are rarely picky eaters, but I heard cats are picky when it comes to food texture since cats are carnivores whose tongues and teeth are perfectly evolved for meat-eating. I don’t know about you, but eating something with the texture of tapioca is boring and kinda gross like hoomon baby food. Weruva’s food features shreds of real meat right off the bone, which is why I took to it like a duck to water (or a cat to gravy)!

Elegant Elly thinks Chicken & Shrimp Dinner in Gravy is good to the last lick.

DORI: Got a fat cat? *stops to look at Candy, Opie and Frank who are all stretching the limits of their cat suits.* The problem is in the kibble. It’s filled with unnecessary carbs, which are almost impossible for us kitties to process. The Weruva hoomons tell me we cats don’t produce amylase, an enzyme which helps humans digest their food noms. Weruva’s B.F.F. OMG! has no kibble to worry about because it’s 100% real meats in their true form. Yay!

Herman enjoys his Chicken & Pumpkin Dinner in Gravy lunch.

HERMAN: As for why cats get Fire Pee aka UT problems… Urinary tract issues often stem from dehydration—even if you’re giving your cat plenty of water. I drink a lot of water and still struggle with fire pee. And poor ol’ Frank had bladder blockage this past summer, and he’s always drinking water. In the wild, cats stay hydrated through the food they eat instead of what they drink. Cats are used to ‘eating’ their water—but most wet foods don’t have nearly enough hydration to keep them satisfied. All of the products in Weruva’s B.F.F. OMG! line are over 85% hydration, which satisfies every kitty’s hydration needs.

Opie loved his Chicken & Tuna Dinner in Gravy so much, he asked if he could lick the packaging.

OPIE: Mom tells me she loves Weruva products because they are considered ‘people food for pets.’ The new line of B.F.F. OMG! cans and pouches feature land proteins like boneless and skinless white chicken breast, salmon, beef, duck, lamb and more. All recipes are grain, gluten, and carrageenan free. And if you are a BPA-free home, check out the pouches because they are also BPA-free.

CANDY: Health isn’t just for humans, and I’m glad our mom to let us review B.F.F.’s new OMG – Oh My Gravy! food noms. Plus Mom has learned more about how to feed the Wonderpurr Gang properly.

Which flavor of B.F.F. OMG! will Dori choose for her dinner is anyone’s guess. She loves them all.

DORI: Even better, I found my new favorite food. It’s Chicken, Turkey & Salmon Dinner in Gravy! No wait. It’s Chicken & Shrimp Dinner in Gravy! No wait! It’s Lamb & Tuna Dinner in Gravy!

Thanks for the noms, Weruva. And the pretty balls. We think you’re Wonderpurr!

Frank: While Dori is figuring out which of the B.F.F. OMG flavors is her favorite, I want to thank Weruva for the wonderpurr care package they sent my mom, and also for the great rainbow balls. I’m smacking them around the house, working up an appetite for an Oh My Gravy! dinner.

Love Always, Dori

About the author

  • Wonderful review and super pictures. The packaging looks so easy to open and keeps your food fresh! Yum! Great looking food and sounds so healthy for you cats. We would love the chicken one and Dori you and Candy need to share with Herman. Have fun chasing the rainbow ball.

    • I bet your mom would buy yoo some Weruva gravy noms too, Sadie. Watery food is good for both kitties and doggies.

  • Dori: Thanks for the recommendation! I clicked on your link to Chewy.com and ordered a sample box of 12 pouches for Leia. Sometimes her tummy gets ooky. And if she doesn’t like it, it sounds like I might enjoy it, too. * slow blinky eyes *

    • I’m feeling kinda grumpy cuz Herman is getting first pick of the OMG noms. And he’s licking the plate clean. No Fair!

  • Oooh this sounds the best stuff since Nip! Darn though, we can’t get it here because it would cost gazillions of pennies to buy into the UK from Amazon. Thanks for an excellent and thoroughly tasty and enjoyable review.
